African Americans and Latinos were dosed off to be isolated and not be useful for anything. During the war, more than one million blacks migrated to the North, once lived in the South, to find better working opportunities. With the war in session the government had no use but to obtain openings for the war, so in return for the lack of troops, African Americans were allowed to join the military. While in the military, African Americans were still very racially profiled. They were treated very poorly within their grounds. They provided them with only all black outfits and they were not allowed to have a role in combat. The African American race went through some very hard times but despite the rough pain they suffered, Roosevelt managed to create an Executive Order 8802 that claimed to prohibit racial discrimination. “There shall be no discrimination in the employment of workers in defense industries or government because of race, creed, color, or national origin" (Roosevelt D Franklin). African Americans weren’t the only race to be racially discriminated, but the Latino race was also racially profiled. The Latino race didn’t have it as hard compared to the African American race, but they still had it decently bad.
