The issue concerning the death penalty in America is one that has been circulating for decades. There are several people who support it and just as many who oppose it in America. America should not have the death penalty because placing an inmate on death row and waiting for that sentence to be carried out comes at a cost to taxpayers, there is no evidence to support the fact that capital punishment deters crime and people that have been convicted and are sometimes later on found to be innocent.
People, for whatever reasons they may have, chose to commit a crime and therefore are assuming all responsibility for the consequences that may arise from committing those crimes. She has fought for her clients’ lives to be spared and she has won in all her cases. There are many people like her who believe that if an inmate is in jail and is later to be found innocent they can be released back into society however, if an inmate is later to be found innocent but has already been executed then there is nothing they can do to redeem themselves in the justice department of our country.
