Teamwork is a necessary component of achieving high reliability for health care organizations. Efficient and effective teamwork provides benefits for the organization, medical staff, and patients. The workplace becomes more productive when employees are able to work as a team so safety issues reduce and retention rates increases. When healthcare provides work as a team, they can be more responsive to changes as they occur. When a patient has health issues, physicians and other health providers work as a team and try to fulfill their responsive duties and work with others to solve problems.
