1. Demonstrated high level interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. My interpersonal and communication skills were developed through successfully interacting with patients, families and other staff members during placements. Oftentimes, handing over patients to other nurses or other healthcare professionals had to be completed for optimal care. I was able to develop my verbal communication skills by using ISBAR when handing over the patient to other nurses at the end of each shift. Written communication skills were practiced through completing progress notes with head-to-toe assessment or ABCDEFG assessment and using correct and appropriate medical terminology and abbreviations that is accepted by the NSW health, such as PAC (pressure area care) or IDC (indwelling catheter).
