When I heard the idea of writing a proposal, in order to get money to improve some part of campus, I was fairly excited and eager to start the assignment. But I soon realized that this assignment would be harder than I had expected. The hardest part for me was trying to figure out something to fix on campus with the allotted $10,000. It became very apparent that this was not a lot of money, and most things would go way over budget in order to be practical and to make a difference. The other hard part of this assignment, was the group work aspect. I don’t mind group work, but with something like this, everyone has different ideas of what to do, and how to do them. It took more time than I expected in order to straighten everything out. But I do feel like this assignment was very helpful in a number of ways. The writing process of this assignment was very time extensive and did require a lot of research in order to do a good job. It seemed like our topics of “hunger” and “food wastage” were very extensive and had a lot of great information, but almost too much. We spent a lot of time narrowing down this research in order to find the numbers that we needed and a way to localize the data in order to make it work for UNM campus. The composing of all the data, was fairly easy, as the information seemed to just flow.
