Do you think that video games cause violence? Well if you think it doesn’t then keep reading.

This essay will discuss why video game violence doesn’t cause violence in the real world.

Video games don’t make a person violent. It all depends on the type of person they are. If they are already

aggressive or they have a disorder that makes them more violent then they will be more

violent when they play video games that have violence in them. It also depends on their

age, for example when an eight year old plays a violent video game and has a very imaginative

mind, the eight year old will see the world as if it were in the video game and get violent,

and the parents don’t like that and think that every video game

They also think that video games would make a person more likely to steal something or commit

a serious crime. “Playing video games can increase aggressive behavior and thoughts, while

lessening empathy and sensitivity toward aggression.”(Sifferlin)

On the side of video games not causing violence they would say that video games don’t lead up to

criminal activity and that they were wrong, given credit that most of the criminals have played video

games but they do not lead up to crime, just because they play them doesn’t mean that they become a

criminal because of it, some of the criminals are also drug addicts and that could be a reason why they

go and commit a crime.

We must stand up and tell those who oppose us how we feel without being violent and we must explain

Holmes 3 our side to them also and be kind about it and not yell or shout but be kind and gentle about it

otherwise they will think that video games actually do cause violence.

The truth is that video games do not cause violence and that the people who think they do need to
