A democratic group leader is a leader whose authority an agreement of a group. According to Gladding (2016), democratic group leaders serve as facilitators, who work together and share responsibilities with the group. I believe democratic group leaders are most compatible with counselors and trainers who are in charge of training a class for a company.

Group centered leadership is defined as, individual leaders coming together as a collective power to change a common goal. My definition of a group centered leadership is having more than one public voice, offers equality amongst supporters, and uses individual incidents as evidence to a global problem. Having more than one public ambassador is important in spreading the word and bringing awareness to people. Black Lives Matter is an example of a movement with many famous supporters. Namely democratic leaders involve team members to participate the decision making process, every team member has the equal opportunity to express their opinion, and their contribution will be taken into account in the decision making. By doing so, team members are willing to work with leaders and willing to take responsibility for their actions and decisions. Democratic leadership style is excellent to use for making a change or implementing new ways of working within the team. For instance, if there is ongoing issue (unknown glasses found in communal areas) has been identified by the manager in the home, solution methods (name tags on residents’ glasses, request optician to engrave the name on new glasses) had been produced by empowering team members.
