What is Stress? Biologist and psychologist both have different ideas of what stress really is. Biologist label stress as if it is any occasion that happens to harms the homeostasis of any organism. Psychologists sometimes describe stress as consequences that can be psychological and physiological events in which it can test anyone’s ability to cope or get through everyday life. It can also threaten or affect a person’s important or main goals. So what really is stress?
After doing some research of my own, I have come to find that stress is the way the brain responds to any demand. We as humans believe that stress is characterized by bad situations. But the truth is, stress can also be good for you. There are many different types of stress. Some that are good stress which is called Eustress and the bad stress which is called Distress. The difference between the good and the bad stress is that Eustress is a positive stress and Distress is the negative one. These two types of stress can also be known as stressors. Which is anything that causes the release of stress hormones.
Eustress is short term. It motivates a person, focuses on their energy, improves their performance and makes them feel exciting. It can also benefit a person’s health. This type of stress is perceived as within everyone’s coping abilities. For instance; taking an educational class, starting a new job, buying a home, getting married, having a child, getting a promotion, taking a vacation, holidays, and…
