Key considerations when planning training in any organisation

Businesses need to consider training new starters and new employees differently. Existing staff don’t want to feel like a babies in the business; having to go through the same training as the newcomers. This may frustrate the existing employees and same goes with the newcomers. They may feel overpowered when they see the capabilities of existing employees.

The training that they do must be relevant to their job title and must be transferable for when they go to another placement. Most employees want training that would be useful in multiple jobs and transferred from job to job.

However, the cost of training is not a problem for on-the-job or induction training as they are not costly. Off-the-job training is very expensive type of training method because businesses have to pay other people or businesses to train their employees. They would call on professional instructors or other businesses to take responsibility for their employee training. However, the costs vary depending on the number of employees that are involved in the training; the more employees the more costly the training will be. They need to also take into consideration that every business has a budget limit. This is a disadvantage because if they pay for train for staff they lose a lot of money. Unless the business is doing well on fiancé then they are able to train staff off-the-job. The cost of off-the-job training is expensive because the business need to pay transport for the employees. The business need to also consider booking the location to train in and pay to use the facilities. But it is costly for a business to plan to send one of their employees to another business to train. They cannot plan to send all their employees to train in the other business because there are limited places and it …show more content…
It allows them to start to be familiar with the products, the types of targets that are expected, how to deal with customers and what other services are offered. The induction usually takes place a week before the employee actually starts. The new employees go through various activities which are verbal and practical. The types of activities that they go through in induction are real life situations and they teach new employees how to deal with the problem. Induction training usually lasts for a day.

The points of Induction are:
 Learning about the responsibilities of the job
 Meeting new colleagues and existing employees that you may be working with
 Learning and understanding business polices and working environment
 Keying the aims of the business

Advantages:
- It introduces staff to the business so they know what expected. If they don’t know what’s expected they could affect the performance of the business by making many mistakes.
- It enables the employee to make a good first impression on the employer and make him figure out if they made the right choice.

Disadvantages:
- It’s usually a short period of time and there is a limit to the activities you can include in inductions. Example some inductions may last 1 hour or 2 hours.
- You don’t have an opportunity of working independently; you are instructed or work in
