Violence in video games
This paper will examine the question if violence in video games leads to violence in people. Over the years gaming has advanced in graphics, storytelling and most of all violent content. Each year new horror and action games get released with more gore and more bloodier effects. People say that there is a link between the violence in video games to the violence in people who play them. There have been countless research and debates over how the violence in video games affects the human mind and whether or not they lead to violent behavior and whether or not you need the gore in violent or horror games to make them appealing in the first place.

The shooter preferred surprisingly, games like Dance Dance revolution (Ferguson 2014). Ferguson takes the reader down a timeline where in the past there has always been this same tired argument just in different media forms. All three things cause aggression and arguably violence at the extreme when pushed. With all this information in mind some people still believe that gory games shouldn 't be as violent as they are now today. Some argue that taking gore out of a game will drop the appeal of a video game but it depends on what kind of game you 're playing. Gore in games could be essential in heightening the experience depending on the genre you 're playing but in the end, there 's still the argument that to make that same genre enjoyable you don 't even need all that gore.
So, is gore essential to perhaps a zombie game? Maybe, The Walking Dead game capitalizes on its kills and its potential gory deaths and story to make a player want to make or react to certain choices quicker, in a game like this it can be reasoned that the gore in Walking dead facilitates how the player will react and effects what moral choice they make which then heightens the feel of the game. Dead space is notoriously frightening with how gory the game gets in not only its presented environment but in its combat but without the gore Dead Space would probably be some creepy space game where all you do is go around a ship, repair it, and leave while some creepy music
