Vancrest Health Care is an excellent nursing home for anyone who needs to recover from an incident or a place to get assistance at an older age. Deanna Brinkman has a bachelor’s degree in social work and furthers the education while working with her residents at this nursing home located in Van Wert, Ohio. She is one of three that works in social services and any further questions she can be reached at (419)-238-4646 Ext. 244. I sat down myself and spoke with her for an interview on Friday, October 28, 2016 and came back for several more sessions.

She is surrounded by friends to goof off with and laugh around, but manages her time to get the job done and satisfy the client and his or her family. Each day many new residents join the facility and each she places the paperwork.
There are challenges throughout a typical day. Whether it is with the residents or the technology she still gets through the day. The first day I interviewed Deanna the internet was out. She put time aside to welcome me in. She says other than technology she does face issues with hearing them or speaking loud enough for them to hear. Deanna told me, “being new and all, to Vancrest, I am not quite up to date with the new changes; Medicare and Medicaid seemed to always be changing.” Although everyone learns and she is doing the same.
All social workers will get far when they know their resources. Now if you are new to the area and don’t know much in your field, resources are what will fill in most of the blanks. They will take you further with answers for a head start on where you will go. When you know them, Deanna stated they can lead you to smiles on the resident’s face. That is when you know you have succeeded. They are happy and paper have been turned
