1.1 Describe different ways of organising data that has been researched.
Data is a group of information that are used for various purposes like analysis, evaluations and to arrive at certain results or conclusions. Data reporting is a process where data is extracted form a source or many sources and then converted into a format that can be used for a purpose.
It is usually presented in the form of a report in tables, charts, statistics, and graphs or on spread sheets etc. This data may be used to arrive at important decisions within the organisation or with external organisations. Whilst computers add basic information and properties to a file, such as file type, date and time of creation and modification, this is not reliable data management. For example, when files are copied, for revision or as a template, the system does not account for their new purpose and treats them as a copy of the original file.
Version numbering in file names is useful to indicate files revisions or edits, especially in collaborations. This can be through discrete or continuous numbering depending on minor or major revisions.
