Social media is a technological phenomenon that has shaped modern society. Applications like Twitter and Facebook are used by millions on a daily basis. People all over the world are constantly checking and updating statuses, even in third world countries. Even children are using social medias, although they can barely read. The reason for the popularity of social media is because of its usefulness in business advertisement, its ability to create unlikely relationships, and the instant contact it provides. One major factor for social media’s flourishment is the usage of social media, by businesses, as a way to entice customers. Businesses, locally and worldwide, have social media pages because there are benefits for both the consumer and the distributer. These pages are intended to catch the attention of potential customers who are browsing social media news feeds.
