The strategy and tools used to communicate with customers has drastically changed. Unfortunately, there is no way to get around it, social media is here to stay. Notwithstanding, the social media platform can be a slippery slope, especially for a company that is new to it. Thus, for social media to be effective for a company it must approach it strategically. Further, one of the main functions of social media is the ability to connect with people, if a company is active on social media it must be willing to tackle both negative and positive feedback. In addition, additional resources might be needed to successfully implement a social media plan. However, if a company is not willing to provide the additional resources then the plan is doomed to fail before it begins (Mangold & Faulds, 2009).

Fortunately, the chocolate started flying off the shelves and Seymour decided to apply for a loan and purchased his own equipment and building to manufacture his chocolate. First, he began to add additional products and began selling in stores and through the internet to companies and individuals all over the world. In 2002, the company began selling wholesale its chocolate to specialty and gourmet stores, gift basket companies, and coffee shops. By 2009, the company had almost two million in profit, and Seymour was rewarded with Entrepreneur of the year. In early 2010, Seymour was pitching a new business plan for RICC at the Venture Capital Club. Afterwards, some of the members told him that he was thinking too small, and that he needed to reevaluate his plan for growth. Consequently, it is understandable why the negative post upset him, especially while trying to raise capital. Nevertheless, the post was a scathing review of him and his company, and Seymour couldn’t wait to get to work the next day. The
