My Summer Break-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
After a long year of being in school, the summer break finally arrived. I was 10 years old living with my mother and brother in a small town, Pastoria, in Ojocaliente, Zacatecas, Mexico. It was just another day of my long summer and I heard a noise. My mom was taking out clothes from my closet at 6 AM. I wanted to get up and ask her why was she doing that, but at the same time, I also felt like going back to sleep. I chose to sleep. I woke up at 8 O’clock in the morning while my younger brother Carlos was still sleeping. I grabbed my red chucks, some pants, and a white long sleeve shirt. My mom had taken many of my clothes out of the closet and I was wondering why. I went to the bathroom, brushed my teeth, and then walked to my parents’ room. …show more content…
I was having a nightmare in which a shark was chasing me everywhere. Thankfully, I woke up. I did not want to see any sharks that would chew me like a piece of gum; however, I was ready to go to the beach again. My parents and Carlos were awake and had some breakfast ready. I dressed up and went to eat. As soon as we finished eating, we went to walk around. I could not wait to walk into the water in the ocean again. We finally got inside the ocean and we were jumping the waves. Minutes later, we noticed a sign for water motorcycles for rent. My father rented one, and I was the first one to ride it with him. At first, I thought that riding a water motorcycle could be dangerous, but it was actually something that I relished. Its speed made me feel something weird in my stomach. I could feel some type of tickling of nerves all over my body; it was awesome to ride a water motorcycle. After a couple days, for our last day of vacations in Puerto Vallarta, we went on a cruise to a small island. The boat that took us there was immensely big. I thought that getting inside that boat could take my life away I didn’t even know if it was safe or not. But the boat had all types of things from a pool to a restaurant, Internet, and video games, which made me forget about the perils of a boat ride. When we finally reached the island, we walked across a forest in order to get to the attractions of the island. There was a waterfall that was approximately 18 feet tall, and it had a tunnel behind it where one could walk through it and get to the top of the waterfall and eventually dive or watch others do it. My dad jumped from the top of the waterfall; however, I did not. I knew I still had much to live for. The hours were sinking like the Titanic, and we had to return to the hotel to shower, pack our stuff, and leave. I now knew that I shouldn’t be afraid of trying new things because I relished the time I spent at the beach with my family and I

I had no idea what was going to happen, how was that black rope going to hold a lady like that! I had seen pictures of people on Facebook doing it but I never saw it in person. The boat started to take off into the ocean; within seconds the lady had been lifted off the beach and taken into the sky above the ocean. It was cool to watch, but I knew my mother would NEVER let me do that because of how dangerous…

It was the most basic of mornings that I woke up to. The sun was not yet shining its warmth on my little world, however I still dragged myself out of my warm consuming bed leaving it and my dream Mister Sandman had given me, behind. I swung on my Gator shirt and black shorts without even having to think, still mentally dragging myself out of sleep. The only reason I got up this early or would ever get up this early is for what I truly love, swim practice. I adored getting into freezing cold water…

How would it feel to forcibly miss school for two weeks? Would you ever have expected this to relate to your years of hard work? I never realized how true, “hard work pays off,” until discovering that from the past, it would determine part of my future (Ray Bradbury). It was the third week of September 2014, the week when I was mentally incapacitated and stressed, and it wasn’t because I was autistic or broke serious school laws. Today, halfway through my spring break as a high-school junior, I am somewhere that may surprise you. Somehow, I have found myself six feet under a century old house, slowly chipping away at a wall of dirt and clay. I’m dressed in a bright yellow jumpsuit, breathing through a mask, with a hammer in my right hand, and a chisel in my left. As I take my first break of the eight-hour workday, I look at the progress I have made. Over the last few hours I managed to clear out another foot or so of hard clay, slowly making my way to the other end of the house.…

In summary, I experienced her supporting my decisions, motivating me to do better, and teaching me a life lesson.…

Christmas break in my opinion is probably the second best brake that we have throughout our school year. The main thing I like about Christmas break is how long it is. But even though I like how long we are off school it's almost like we don't have a break because basketball takes over. We get a few days off but the rest of the days are hitting the gym early in the mornings for two to three hours a day. The days I have is the best thing in the world because I get to relax and do something fun for once.…
