Preterm birth carries the possibility of increasing the mortality and morbidity rate of the fetus. Studies have shown that there have been an association between low socio-economic status and an increased rate of negative health outcomes and preterm deliveries (Iams & Donovan, 2011). The United States and Canada have reported a connection amongst maternal women with low education levels and premature births (Iams & Donovan, 2011). These reports have also been concluded in the United Kingdom and Europe (Iams & Donovan, 2011).
