Preterm labor is the most common cause of infant death and is the leading cause of long-term disability related to the nervous system in children.
There are different names for this sometimes-devastating birth; premature delivery, early labor, and preemie for those infants born before forty weeks. Preterm is characterized as infants conceived alive before thirty-seven weeks of pregnancy are finished.
Why is this called preterm birth? Let me explain this among other things, about preterm labor. I know a bit about this as I have experienced going through this.
