Comparison Over the Three Curtis Brothers:
Jahrell Teodoro In the book, “The Outsiders” are introduced in chapter one three boys named Ponyboy Curtis, Sodapop Curtis, and Darry Curtis. These three brothers also classify themselves as Greasers because of where they live, how they act, and how they dress daily. By the looks of these three siblings, I will be comparing them by their Appearance like how they look and dress, their Personality on how they act, and on their personal life including their birth date, friends and similarities. But for now, I will be talking about Appearance. Darry Curtis is in fact like a mother and father to his younger brothers, Sodapop and Ponyboy. (Since their parents died from an automobile accident) He is a large man as well. Darry is a 6’2 adult with broad shoulders, according to the book, his hair is dark brown that sticks out in the front of his head with a cowlick in the back. But, they also have many friends including Johnny Cade, Dallas Winston, Tow-Bits Mathew, Steve Randle, Curly Shepard, and Sherri Valance. They also have the same enemy gang which is the Socs. (Short for Socials) Anyways, Ponyboy was born on July 22, 1951. But in the book, he was fourteen years old. His oldest brother is Darry and his parents were Darrel Curtis Sr. and Mrs. Curtis, same as Darry and Sodapop. Darry was born on January 5, 1945 but was aged twenty in the book. His enemy was the Socs too but, he also had Paul Holden as his own personal enemy. Lastly, we have Sodapop. Sodapop was born on October 8, 1948 and was sixteen in the book. He has a girlfriend named Sandy, but they broke up throughout the story. But Soda did not have any other enemy besides the Socs.
