Dunder Mifflin In The Office

The television show that I chose to watch was The Office. It is a sitcom that is a “documentary” about a paper company called Dunder Mifflin in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The characters that I chose to analyze are Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson), Jim Halpert (John Krasinski), Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer), and Michael Scott (Steve Carell).
Dwight Schrute works at Dunder Mifflin as a sales representative. He wears the same type of clothes everyday, a mustard-colored dress shirt, dark tie, and a brown suit jacket. He is a tall, skinny, white male, and he has short brown hair. Dwight does not have much of a social life, and he spends most of his free time on his beet farm. Another character is Jim Halpert. He is also a sales representative at Dunder Mifflin. He dresses professionally for work, but he has brown, moppy hair. Towards the end of the series, he marries Pam Beesly, and they have two kids. The third character that I chose to analyze is Pam Beesly. In the beginning of the series, she was the receptionist, but she later

He also tries to suck up to the boss. He also follows rules almost religiously, and if someone does not follow the rules he becomes angry and agitated. Jim Halpert constantly plays pranks on Dwight, and he mocks people. He is also very sarcastic. However, he can be a comforting and a nice person when he sees someone who is truly in need. Pam Beesly started out as a very shy person in the beginning of the series, but throughout the season she becomes more outgoing. She also becomes more confident, and she does not let other people walk all over like she did towards the start of the series. Michael Scott wants everybody to like him, and in the process he constantly makes inappropriate and offensive jokes. However, he does not realize how offensive these jokes are. Michael is also very immature, and he can become very distracted and incompetent when it comes to his

Stereotypes are used all the time in modern television shows. One of the first shows that comes to mind is The Office, in this show, almost every scene creates humor from making fun of stereotypes or exaggerating different stereotypes. The Office uses many different gender stereotypes including men being insensitive, the men being in charge, and more. This show confirms almost all of these stereotypical views of men, and even exaggerates it. One of the more typical stereotypes that has been developed over time is the job positions that are held by men.…

The term “Tokenism” is maybe something the average person has never heard of. Tokenism is defined as “ the policy and practice of making a perfunctory gesture towards the inclusion of members of minority groups” If you look at any television show you watch or even movie for the most part you will always find at least one use of tokenism. There 's a token black guy who either acts like he is from what people have deemed the ghetto or he is soulful and acts like he’s from the south. There 's sometimes a token gay character that is always portrayed as a flamboyant white male with a high pitched voice and a love for fashion. The less common token is the love interest token which is the girl that the awkward main character has loved since forever but she has herself wrapped around some other guys finger.…
