June 6th, 2014. That was the last day of my sophomore year in high school. I had just recently gotten my license, and my best friend, Dee, was up and in town for the entire summer. I could not have been more excited. This was the first summer after my mom had met her boyfriend in the cities, and left me with my 18-year-old brother for the summer. Two sixteen-year old’s, basically unsupervised for an entire summer, what could possibly go wrong? The answer is everything. Everything that could have gone wrong that summer, went wrong. Only one good thing came out of that entire summer, all 93 days of it. That summer I learned who I never want to be, a lazy, insignificant, waste of society, bum. That summer was the biggest learning experience of my life so far. The first thing I remember clearly about that summer is how excited I was for my best friend to be coming home. She was recently moved to a foster home in Antigo, Wisconsin. Being the trouble maker that she is, she ended up getting kicked out. She returned home too Superior, where her grandparents decided to take her in. Of course, her grandparents were almost as absent as my parents, and hardly ever noticed that she was barely ever around. About two weeks into our reckless summer, Dee thought what a great idea it would be for us to get a job together. I had already had a job, and knew my manager would not stand for me and my best friend goofing off at work, so I decided to quit my job and find one with her. I mean, I…
