Personal Narrative: Summer In Montana

Improved Essays
Montana, the state where winter seems to never go away and spring seems to be only a few weeks and suddenly it is summer and seems even when naked your body is boiling and no matter the amount of ice filled cold water you can’t stay cool enough. Don’t get me wrong I love winters and wouldn’t trade Montana winters for anything in the world but at the same I also am an individual whose moods are highly dependent on the weather and so when the cloudy skies and freezing cold temperatures finally leave I feel like I have been reborn just like a phoenix rising from the ashes. I know spring has finally arrived and my mood will be a great one when I wake up and not only feel the sun’s ray warm my face, which even with the shades down have found a way to creep into the room, and hear the heavenly notes “chick a dee chick a dee” the cute small songbird has left his tree cavity and gladly is outside chirping away letting all and any alike that no longer do they have to savage and enjoy the freshly ripe nuts, fruits, and insects all around them. …show more content…

Humans are no different and winter is the period in which instinct calls us to eat anything and everything to create a thicker layer of fat, no wonder the terms winter bod and summer bod exist in our society. The summer bod of the black-capped chickadee is created through the healthy diet of small insects, nuts, and an assortment of greens. It is hard to get a summer bod in Montana because Montanan’s like to float the rivers in the summer to cool down and that is when the beers come out and the bar-b-que food hits the grill. Montana’s sure do enjoy their beer and burgers. I hear another chick a dee chick a

Most teenagers would probably tell you that the beginning of their adulthood was marked by having to do laundry for the first time, or being able to drive alone, or perhaps no longer sitting at the children's table at family events. But for me, it happened this past summer, when I made the very difficult decision that I would not return to Coleman Country Day Camp. To those who were not fortunate enough to have grown up at summer camp, this might not seem like such a big decision to make. But Coleman was my outlet, my second home for ten consecutive summers and spending those two months anywhere else seemed inconceivable to me.…

I was looking at the scenery while I was in the car on the way to my uncle’s house; we were looking for a house to move into. It was the very first time I have ever moved and also been out of my home state Florida. I was very curious and I was also very afraid what we will do . When I meet a new person in London their first question is “Where are you from?” This is mostly because I am clearly not British, nor European. People often assume I’m American, at which point I have to patiently explain that I am Canadian, no I don’t live in an igloo, but my parents do drive their snowmobiles to work sometimes… The second question is “Where in Canada are you from?” Then I tell them about being from a small town in Ontario, but that I actually spent the last few years living and working in the Rocky Mountains.…

In today’s society, every region has a different and unique language. It is a clear indication of where you are from. We take for granted our unique dialects across the country and even the world. We are all so different yet we can all connect. This whole concept was unthought of by me for a very long time, until I visited my friend Lauryn’s family in Wisconsin.…

It was the first day of summer in sunny Arizona, but of course it is always summer in Arizona everyday all throughout mid-December where there are some type of icy frost on the road and trees. The only thing that seemed too cool off the people here including their temper and attitudes it was the same everyday hot, sticky and stuffy no sign of movement of weather. The clouds just made a big circle around the city as is trying to avoid this place. It was the same everyday wake up in the morning wait for the sun to go down go outside play in the cooling asphalt and then come in for a really spice dinner that has really good, but hot and really worth eating after long sunny hot day. It was time for a change I thought, that night my parents said…

Ski Trip to Vermont My friends and I consider ourselves to be very spontaneous and adventurous. It was one cold week in February of 2016, when a group of about 6 of my friends (including me) all decided that we wanted to go to Vermont for the weekend to ski and snow tube. Considering this would be my first trip with no parental guidance at all, I was apprehensive about asking my mom. On the way to drop me off after school one day, my best friend Tony told me to tell her that he was going too…

It was a bright, white, snowy, cold day. The roads are covered with snow and the fields look like clouds with trees, the edges of the clouds are the snow filled ditches with the ice covered frozen bottoms. Dad had the day off of work and asked if I wanted to go snowmobiling with him. I obviously said yes because I’ve wanted to go all year. After we put on all of our snow pants, coat, gloves, and helmet he helped me get the snowmobiles out of the garage and start them.…
