Personal Narrative: Why I Look Back To Summertime, EDC

Improved Essays
I look forward to specific time of year, every year, summertime. There's many reasons why I look forward to it, the summer nights with my friends, being able to walk outside without layers of clothing, and being able to actually enjoy my time outside without freezing to death. However, there is one main reason I look forward to summertime, EDC. EDC is a carnival/concert that occurs every year. It always varies venues but for the past three years, Vegas has been its home. This has given me the chance to attend every year and every year I love it more and more. The atmosphere is undescriable. EDC is a carnival with techno music, rides, food, and a lot of entertainment. People from all over the world travel to enjoy these three summer nights here in …show more content…
It can be hetic and extremly draining but its all worth it. I usually show up around seven pm and leave at six am. Its not that cheap so I make sure I get my money's worth. I buy bright, neon, crazy clothes. This past year I wore all white with LCD lights. I wanted to stand out at the carnival. There are thousands of people at this carnival and the costumes people come up with are insane. This past year I saw a girl with the furiest boots, wearing ripped leggings, face painted, and nothing on top. This is a place to be crazy and be yourself. No one will judge what you do because everyone is there to party and have a great time. The light shows are one of my favorite parts about EDC. They light up the sky and make you want to stay up all night. Every year I make sure I read the line up so I can see when my favorite performer will be on and at what stage. It always gets crowded early so I make sure I get there early as well so I can have the best view of the crowd. When they finally come out you can hear the excitement in everyone's screams. The bass from the speakers shakes the crowd and makes you want to

The event I attended was Spirit Day at Poinciana campus on October 19th from twelve to two pm. That being said, I chose this event for the reason that I felt this occasion represents the identity and community shared by all the members of our institution. Not only that, but student involvement is important when representing your school and when improving your school environment. Thus, going to such event may have a significant impact on my college experience. This type of occurrence has the effect of making students feel more united, and unity only makes us stronger as individuals, which is why attending was important.…

Cherish the Good Times State basketball quarterfinals unraveled to be an exciting and victorious trip for the squad and me. We began our trip on a cool March morning where a huge white charter bus waited on our arrival before we leave the locker room we all do a quick scan to see if we have everything. Growing up in a small community where the county fair every October was the biggest event in town all year, I thought I knew what it was to live in the middle of nowhere and making up outlandish ideas for fun. That was until I moved to good ole Newark, Ohio; where I would make the revelation that I indeed had no inclination about what people could come up with to be designated the term a good time, considering I had never heard of the hellacious event, Mud Fest. My fiancé has always been interested in big, lifted, and modified trucks, and I have grown to accept this; at times to my amazement, I enjoy going down rough terrain and muddy, deserted trails. So, when the day came that he asked me if I would like to go to an off roading event that was being held not too far from us, I said yes; thinking it would be the usual adventure…

I was very excited for this trip the most since its a music event plus it something different compared to the kind of music I grow up with. Jazz is not a popular music where I am from However with the internet as well as the tv I had the chance to introduced to this style of music. I find jazz music different than any other music its very relaxing as well as enjoyable. I was expecting to listen to a typical american jazz with the common typical instrument such as Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Clarinet and Flute. However I was kind of confused by the type of music I heard at that play…

College Park is a big time college town that just like any other college town loses thousand of people buying items in the town over the summer time. This festival would be hosted over the summer in which over thirty thousand less people would be living in College Park than over the rest of the year. A town may have many reasons for not wanting ninety thousand people coming in and spend four days in their city but there are many reasons why this would help the city. First off, the revenue that the festival brings in would help the city in many ways. A large festival brings in such large profits that a festival makes more money for a community than what might have been made in a tax increase or loss in closing a park or a library.…

When you find yourself in a new situation, how do you act? I have been working in education for over 25 years but in March 2015, I registered my new business, ‘Listening to Your Voice Ltd’, because I made the conscious decision that in September when the new school year began, I would not be returning to a school and teaching. It was a brave decision for me to make as teaching was the only real career that I had known. As part of my first degree, I had worked at Guy’s Hospital as a research assistant, but after a year, I knew that I did not want to pursue a career in research. I knew, because of the decision I took, I would be on a rapid learning curve in the months ahead.…
