The idea of homosexual couples be given the right of marriage has been an extremely controversial topic for a plethora of years in America and around the world. There are many reasons why same-sex marriage is considered unnatural by many , mostly conservatives, this is because many devote their faith to “traditional” ways. Homosexuality is considered as a “non traditional” lifestyle and therefore incorrect and unnatural. In return if homosexuality is “unnatural” then same-sex marriages would therefore be unnatural. These people may think that homosexuality is unnatural but denying a group of people the same rights as another group is discrimination regardless of their opinions. This is not the first time in history that discrimination has occurred around the world such as African Americans in the U.S, the Jewish minority in Germany and many more. People now look back at these horrific events and see them as discrimination and not acceptable, but at the same time are discriminating against homosexuals by denying them the right of marriage. Denying same-sex couples the right of marriage is discrimination and should not be tolerated by the United States Government. There are many stances you can take on this very controversial topic the trivial side and the legal side. Many people will consider the whole marriage thing completely unnecessary and trivial.
