I was 13 when I went to Mexico in the summer of 2015. I had mixed feelings when my parents told me I was going to see my family. I was excited because it had been years since I had seen my whole family. I was also nervous because I was going on this trip by myself. This was the place where all the teens would hang out and many people would perform on the streets. Also they would sell lots of food. Another place that I went was my grandmas ranch. It was a little scaring because there was no signal and stray dogs would be wandering around which made me sad. Also if I needed to use the bathroom, it was basically a hole on the ground with a toilet seat cover, which I did not like. On the bright side, I did help my grandma around feeding some of the animals she had like chickens and pigs.
Overall my trip to Mexico was amazing. I got to see my whole family who I hadn't seen in 10 years and spent some quality time with them. I also saw all the beautiful buildings and places that San Miguel had to offer. I learned some important life lessons like not taking what I have for granted and being grateful that I don't have to warm my water just to take a shower. I really enjoyed my time over there and hope that I can go back
