Four Important Habits In My Internship

Four of the habits I use currently in mu internship include being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, thinking win/win and seeking first to understand. Being proactive, I use every day while I’m at my internship, I am always responsible for my actions. For example if social media isn’t posted daily and the website doesn’t get updated weekly, I am held accountable for that. No one else is to blame when those task aren’t completed. This shows that I am being proactive, because I am doing what I am responsible for doing and holding myself accountable.
While at my internship I always begin with the end in mind. This is extremely important to keep in mind when working in ministry. For example, I am in charge of making sure the volunteer schedule for the weekend is good, that there are enough volunteers in every classroom. Many weeks this is one of the most difficult task and I absolutely hate it. Yet, I have to begin with the end in mind. If there aren’t enough volunteers in the classrooms then students won’t be able to experience Jesus is an extraordinary way. This is the most valuable to me because it is honestly what keeps me going, it is why I do what I do. I know that when I work with the little kids, and everything I do to prepare anything for them could automatically change their futures. For example a couple weeks ago I was planning my message that I was going to give in preschool chapel. I was thinking how are kids going to understand this Bible story, how are they going to remember it, and how can I make it fun? This was lots of work an preparation, but I kept thinking it is all worth it because it is truly impacting kids’ lives and I didn’t know how much of an impact it was making until a couple weeks
