The experience that I went through and that I would like to share was when I played golf in the beginning of the year. I was fine managing my schedule during the first week or two of school, but then I started getting more and more homework as the weeks went on. I had a hard time keeping up with my school work and playing golf. I practiced every day after school and I didn’t really have any time after school to do my homework. In January, when I first started my internship at the Mansfield Youth Services Bureau, I was unsure of whether or not it was the type of placement I was in search of. When I first reached out to the Director of Youth Services, Pat Michalak, it was with the intention that I would be placed in a position where I could gain hands-on experience working with youth, ages 18 and under, but that was not what was available to me at the time. The bureau’s two initiatives that allow for direct involvement with youth, Big Friends and COPE, had already been filled at the beginning of the school year. However, Pat was so intrigued by my e-mail of inquiry that she did not wish to lose me as an intern.…

At the same time I feel as if my school work load is so high I can never get ahead or feel on top of all my responsibilities in life. My first semester of graduate school had been rough, but I made it through and was very proud I had. However, throughout my first semester I had deeply cut my social relationship time with my partner and my friends, stopped going to the gym entirely, and lost the majority of my weekends to educational reading and assignments. I learned I needed to prepare and organize my time even more efficiently than I already did. For the second semester I sat down with my partner and planned out every single week from the food we were going to eat, events we were going to attend, dates we were going to go on, and workouts we were going to take part in.…
