I am currently a nursing major at Armstrong state University. Within the nursing field many of its moral code correlates to my moral codes. Jordan Feider a classmate that is also majoring in nursing has stated; “One ethical code that is also a large aspect of being a good nurse is the principle of justice which is treating all patients equally” (Feider, Professional Ethics, Nov. 16, 2016). Treating people equally is the morality I want I follow throughout my life. Professionally, nursing is a direct correlation to what my belief is. I want to be able to impact others positively, and in return I will be returned with positive effects. Growing up I’ve always found satisfaction in helping others. Thus, I chose nursing as a life-long career. As a nurse, I am responsible for my actions and what I do to other, if I neglect a patient that could prove to be a dire mistake. This type of responsibility is what led me to choose this profession. My approach on life has a deontologist approach as I feel it is my duty to do what is necessary to up keep my values. As lectures progress, I have more of an understanding of how each value through religious influence, human biology/ nature vs nurture and profession ethics impacts my belief.
