The participants were randomly selected and derived from licensing lists from four states. Total of 1000 nurses, 250 nurses selected from each of the four different states, and census regions in the United State of America (Maryland, Massachusetts, California and Ohio), basically to describe and assess the type, frequency, occurring rate of stress of ethical dilemmas encountered by nurses in their everyday practice, (Ulrich, 2010).
