Four Leadership Patterns

There are four types of leadership and patterns of management; creative-result leader, team developer-motivator leader, example-encourager leader, and realism-quality leader. From using the interactive graphic provided in this week’s learning resources, among the four types of leaderships and management patterns, my leadership style was an equal balance of the example-encourager leader and the realism-quality leader at 19%. Whereas, I am a creative-result leader at 16% and a team developer-motivator leader at 17%. The example-encourager leader, is a leader that leads by example while also supporting those that follow them; this in turn, encourages those followers to do well under the direction of their leaders (Laureate Education, Inc., 2011). …show more content…
One weakness that the two share is their willingness to be open to new ideas and/or change which could be due to their lack of confidence as it involves change. However, one way to address this issue is to form a leadership group. By doing so, it allows room and the opportunity for open communication and the ideas of other staff members. This will be of a benefit to the leaders because they can then apply the ideas of their staff which allows their followers to know that they are being heard. Among those four I scored equally as an example-encourager leader and a realism-quality leader. With these two types of leadership patterns, they some similarities and some differences when it comes to their weaknesses. However, their strengths were a bit different from one another. The example-encourager leader is good at providing consistency to its staff whereas the realism-quality leader is good a conducting analytical analyses. Both of their individual qualities makes each of these leaders stand out however it is their weakness that may hinder them or cause a major impact when it comes to their leadership skills. Both of these leaders have a weakness in the area of change and/or the willingness to be open to new ideas. However, by addressing their weaknesses, each of these leaders can become even better
