FRLD leadership behaviors lessons I found the most insightful in module 6 because it made me aware of my behavior as a leader. From the five leadership behaviors, I exhibit management by exception-active. I am task driven, seeking for perfection and accuracy expeditiously. My leadership style assessment results were 8 (high) – concern for people and 4 (low) – concern for task. According to the assessment; task-orientation is concerned with getting the job done, while people-orientation focuses on group interactions and the needs of the individual members. The best leaders are ones that can balance their task / people orientation, which would equate a high score for both categories. My rating according to the assessment indicates that I’m overly laissez-faire.…

According to the T-P Leadership Questionnaire, my highest scored leadership style stands as autocratic leadership, or concern for task (Pfeiffer & Jones, 1974). My autocratic leadership score stood at twelve, while my laissez-faire score stood at six, leaving me with a medium level of shared leadership. I do agree with the survey results as I believe that group members should retain some freedom and creativity, but that group members should also follow standard rules and regulations. I do not believe that a leader should be controlling or egocentric, but rather, that a leader should guide and promote productivity within a group. As a leader, I expect commitment and dedication to the greater success of the group; I do not appreciate or accept…

Effective leadership ranked 9th out of the 10 workplace categories measured for six of the 19 largest federal agencies (including DHS) (Partnership for Public Service, 2013). Agencies which rated high included the National Aeronautical…

He monitors them always without giving them freedom (Carmeli, Atwater, & Levi, 2010).
