Management and leadership have the have the time to really sit down with their team and understand what they are in need of, in a larger organization this is much more difficult to do.
Another leadership style is the visionary. This style is used for the organization that is more focused on the future or when the company needs to move in a new direction. This leader will give an already established company a facelift and for a new company it helps the business to understand what direction the company wants to move in, and how they will grow. In this particular style the leader is trying to direct everyone that is a part of the company to focus on one common goal. They will be concentrating on creating an environment that promotes creativity

Both about motivating and changing the culture of the company. Now let’s look at a style that is a little more structured, the commanding leadership style. This specific style has more of the military like feel to it, and is used more often than none in businesses. In this style the leader is trying to soothe fears of those within the company. They give clear directions by using a powerful stance, commanding and expecting full compliance, not looking for input or agreement from those around them. One of the downsides to the commanding style is that it is used often and in most businesses but is not very effective within the company. Praise or commending the employees is very rarely used in this style of leadership. It is mostly pointing out the faults of the employee and criticizing the work that is being done. Morale is typically low in this type of environment, the leadership may seem more cold and distant. They can be viewed as unapproachable, so employees do not feel as they are able to be heard in this type of culture. This approach is best in times of crisis when the company must have unquestioned rapid action. It may also be used problem employees who do not respond to other methods. This is another style that can be used in both large and small organizations, but as mentioned earlier it is probable the least effective style of …show more content…
A large component of the leadership style is the way a leader communicates with those around them. Good communication is an imperative skill the person leading the team should have. The leader must understand how to communicate on every level with their team, from the executives at the top to the lower level employees. The communication style is based off the audience needs and what goal they are trying to reach. For example the leader may have to use a coaching style in a one on one this employee meeting and then switch to the more commanding style with another employee. While verbal communication is the most obvious form of communication with the team a leader must be conscience of their nonverbal language as well. Leadership communication requires using the full range of communication abilities and resources to be able to connect positively with audiences, overcome interferences, and also create and deliver messages that guide, direct, motivate, or inspire others to
