Physical Education In Elementary Schools When presented with ten children, how many children in America would one expect are physically active daily? "Only one out of three children are physically active everyday"( "Physical Activity"). This is the next generation, and with non proper physical education it becomes harmful to children. Physical Education should be mandatory every day in elementary schools because it reduces obesity, creates a healthy brain and helps to control focus at a young age. To better understand why children should be involved in physical education every day in elementary schools, one must understand the opposition. Many argue that building physical education everyday into the school day would cost the government and our state a lot of money. Although, the money would be taken from other funds. Currently in the United States, " Obesity-related illness, including chronic disease, disability, and death, is estimated to carry an annual cost of $190.2 billion" ("Physical Activity "). The government and tax payers are paying for something that is very preventable. At the moment, there is only one program trying to fund and expand the amount of physical everyday in elementary schools. The Carol M. White Physical Education Program is one of the program 's the government is trying to reduce funding for. Funding is only at 47 million dollars, but the U.S. Department of Education has said they will not continue their funding, only for the few states that…
