Cell Phones are a rising priority in our day to day lives. We use them to talk to our peers. We use them to stay updated on social media, and we use them to stay informed on news. In the past few years cell phones have moved their way into the classroom, and this has become a cause for concern because students are being more and more distracted by their phones. While phones can benefit students in the classroom and support learning, the negative consequences seem to outweigh the potential benefits of having phones in the classroom. The negative consequences include lower academic success, impaired literacy skills and unhealthy development in the brain. In order to decrease the amount of cell phone users in the classroom, at Warren Township, a screening session should be taken place in order to understand student opinion and devise a consensus to have a designated area for cell phones in classes.
This problem has been a result of poor academic performance among select students in classes. The leisure use of cellphones are a part of student life, resulting in a hindrance of attention and impacting their learning performance. In today 's society cell phones are an integral part of highschool and college life.
