The relationship between cell phones and academic performance in college students in today’s society is becoming a major concern with higher education institutions. It has caused some student’s GPA to fall drastically, student anxiety, enhances the ability to cheat, and major classroom distraction. Cell phones are generally within the arm’s reach of nearly anyone, and are considered an influence on user’s beliefs, attitudes, and behavioral outcomes (Lepp, Barkley, & Karpinski, 2014). Research shows that high cell phones users were less physically fit than low cell phones users. Data collected from an interview explained that the negative relationship by suggesting cell phone users disrupts physical activity behavior causing the high frequency user to be less physically active and more sedentary compared to low frequency users (Lepp et al, 2014).
