Beginning my essay was the hardest part of my essay due to a combination of several things; lack of motivation, becoming easily distracted, and not fully knowing what my thesis sentence was were all contributing factors to a slow start on my essay. However, once I wrote the first few sentences in my introduction paragraph and made a few tweaks to my thesis statement, the rest of the essay was relatively simple. The USD writing center was a great resource I used. I went there to have them look over my works cited page and in text citations to make sure I was citing everything properly and in the correct format. Another resource I found was helpful was the in-class peer review time as well as sending the essay to my mom and dad to have another set of eyes look over my paper. To start off my research, I found a couple popular sources telling of cell phone usage statistics and emotions towards cell phones based on a survey. From there, I used the USD online research center to find my scholarly sources. At first, I struggled with narrowing down my results and finding relevant information. I found quite a bit of information about the opposing side of my argument, which was good because it helped me write parts of my body paragraphs, but was mostly frustrating and time consuming. Eventually, I got the hang of the search tools and was able to find important studies as well as interesting real life examples which I could use in my paper. By the end of my paper, I felt I had a good feel and knew how to navigate around the online research center, which in previous papers I struggled mightily
