In the early two thousands, most people had flip phones. Smart phones were much more expensive and was not the social norm. Having a cell phone in generally was that normal until they became more affordable. But now, where ever you look there are people on their cellphones. As generations pass and technology advances, the current social norm is most people have a smart phone and to not have a smart phone or no phone at all, is to deviate away from the social norm. When cell phone were not very common or not advanced, people still communicated with one another and had face to face contact. But with advances in cell phones people can text, video message or even use social media to interact with other with out every having to personally interact with the person physically. With society being the study of human relationships, cell phones are defiantly a factor to sociology because cell pones limit the ways humans interact with one
