Leadership Leaders are individuals who leads or commands a group of people. To be an effective leader an individual must have characteristics of leadership that inspire their followers. There can be many types of leaders. Some leaders are strong leaders that want nothing but to rule and have war. Other leaders want peace, and they will only offer help if needed. Some leaders are in the middle and may lean either way. Leaders express their leadership in different ways. Many great leaders have succeeded in the past; however, should leaders follow the ideas of the past or is it time to try something new? Tao-te Ching’s ideas of a great leader was a leader that does nothing. An ideal leader is one that you hardly know is there. He thought that the only thing such leader would want is peace. In addition, he wanted a leader who would take away all the rules. In ensconce allowing the people to control their own life’s. Having a leader that meets in the middle would be the idea situation. For example, American is a democracy and the American leaders meet in the middle. Individuals have the right to vote and choose a leader. It is a situation where the elected leader is not given all the power. There is a balance between peace and war. The leader is not feared because, the people at any time could take them out of power. The power is divided in to three parts to control the power even more. When people have the choice of who to give the power too, they are free. Most people think that war is not the best answer; however, when war is the answer, the people choice a strong leader that will get the job
