During the Blitz in World War II against London, the Germans predictions were proved otherwise. It demonstrated that good things can originate from the bad. Studies state that there are three kinds of outcomes that may and can come from bombings. These outcomes can also be applied to other tragic events. The first is direct hits, which mean those who are affected, die. The second is near misses. Those affected are stunned with disbelief. The third is remote misses. Peter describes each team member “exceeding his or her own abilities” as a member of the team and from this it is clear that the team’s combination of skills has created a great synergy between them and therefore should not be separated. Josh provides unique entrepreneurial ideas and the enthusiasm to keep the team going when they feel overwhelmed; Sandy provides insight into headquarters’ politics and how best to navigate them through her lengthy experience with the company; and Peter uses his sales skills to approach sell the new ideas to headquarters. Together, they make a formidable team but as the Ageless Vigor line has progressed past the idea-stage where the team excelled, this team would be better placed on a new project which needs their entrepreneurial skills. Sandy and Josh find excitement in “spinning out wild ideas for the future” and Peter misses “the creative processes of working out strategies with his team”. The team has also gone through the difficult but valuable forming, storming, norming and performing processes; they have built strong bonds and know each other’s strength and weaknesses. This team can clearly be successful but they need to be motivated to do so and they each find motivation in the creative process of product development. This team is too valuable to separate but should be used only in the beginning stages of a…

When it comes down to everything that is happening with Sandwich Blitz and the staff members, I think that it is a definite time for everything to be addressed. So I absolutely think that a controlled system needs to be put into place so none of these issues can happen again. I feel like when it comes down to lining up the steps to implement a controlled system, rules need to be made so boundaries can be set and stuck to. Like my mother always told me, people will continue to keep crossing lines if you let them; so you need to mean what you say, and say what you mean. Especially, when dealing with a business rules and regulations always needs to be clear; so everyone will know that you mean business. If any of the rules and guidelines are…

After reviewing the video on Sandwich Blitz I think the company should expansion on a smaller scale than a large scale. The reason why I say this is because the SWOT the business will face and having. The Current strength Sandwich Blitz is that they have the resources to open two new locations. All they would have to do it pick a good location to make the new locations successful. A weakness that they face is the economic downtown of the locations that operate in the large office park. This can lead to closers of the locations or more cost to keep them running. Sandwich Blitz has a good opportunity to expand to other cities. This will be a better choice than opening more in the city they currently operate. Since they have a good number of stores…

The “every-man-for-himself” method attempts to create individual reward and emphasizes on individual achievement. I believe that the efficacy of this method is only relevant in the short-run. However, it could hurt the bond between the members and probably lead to a group split as more conflict on the individual level would arise in the long run. “The common-enemy” approach, which pulled two groups against the other one, seems destructive to me. This method will trigger nothing but larger and more sophisticated…
