Birdie Sidwell , the protagonist of Deep by Susanna Vance and I are not at all similar. We have different views of the world , are viewed by the world in distinctive ways and I would respond in a different way to the central conflict of the of the novel. Therefore , I believe given the chance , we would not be friends. My novel is about a thirteen year old girl name Birdie Sidwell. Birdie is an intelligent young girl and she is the only child. Although she has been through a lot nothing bad has ever happened to her. Birdie Widwell yearns for drama or something gruesome to happen so she can write her book. The young girl gets just that when her and her parents take a year long sabbatical to the Carribean.

Birdie caught at first trying to get away. She taught until she could not anymore and just accepted what was at hand. Being kidnapped gave the thought to her that this would be the perfect time to start writing her book. Morgan was then brought along and Birdie felt somewhat at ease. Birdie and Morgan became bestfriends , they were each other’s comfort until they were found. Birdie wrote the best story she had ever wrote because of this experience.
The way that Birdie dealt with the central conflict is the total opposite of how I would have handled it. If I would have gotten kidnapped from my parents I would have fought and fought until I had fight left in me. If I was in Birdies position I would have been trying every way possible to get away. After I met another person that the kidnapper brought in , that would have been the perfect time to try and escape. I would have been praying to god to help me get back to my parents.
