The work created as a group has taken so many hours of hard work and dedication to complete, mostly because literary analyses have many different factors. From the thesis, to literature approaches, and going into the details of the literary devices used. The theme of our essay was failure, and it seems pretty ironic, because the main motivation to write it was to pass the class. At times, it seemed that none of us knew what to do, or how to write. What kept us motivated most of all had to be the perseverance of meeting deadlines. When first beginning revisions and editing of the paragraphs, it was hilarious to see absurd mistakes that were simply overseen. As high school students we sometimes think that the work turned in is flawless, and that may be true, but for a lower level class. …show more content…
At our level, or at the “12th year of public education” like you say, and we should not be dealing with these kind of technical issues. Now, after rereading the exposition over and over again, I noticed that our analysis and detailed explanation as to why Daniel Beaty had included certain types of devices and critical approaches into his poem “Knock Knock,” and how exactly were they used to extend the theme of failure. The devices used were pretty common, and simple to understand, mostly since we had already been exposed to them outside of your class, and have been dominant topics in former english classes. Topic sentences were difficult to write. They have to relate to the theme, but not each one ast to have the word “fail” in it. Dead and repeated words were also excessively found, and surely had to change them into synonyms, and adjust our diction to make the essay more complex and dimensional for the
