The saint that I chose for Confirmation is Saint Rose of Lima. I chose Saint Rose of Lima as my saint because she was the first saint that I learned about. When I was little my grandma used to talk about how Saint Rose was her confirmation saint and how much that my grandma looked up to Rose when she was a little girl. I also loved how much Saint Rose cared about everyone that she met throughout her life. Saint Rose was raised in a Catholic family, but her faith grew stronger as she grew older. Just as she said, the Pirates left at dawn without destroying anything. People believe that it was because of Rose that nothing happened. There were, also, many miracles following her death. One of them was when a crippled boy kneeled in front of her dead body and asked to be able to walk. Saint Rose heard and answered the boy's prayers and the boy was able to get up and

The goal of this document is the analytical breakdown of Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston’s book titled Farewell to Manzanar. The book is a recollection of her time at an internment camp called ‘Manzanar’ when she was a child along with a few excerpts to give depth to some of the events that took place. As noted in the p.s before the book begins, she and her husband decided to write the story of what life was like in the internment camps and not focussing on the overall scheme of how “an injustice was done.” (Wakatsuki Houston, Foreward) since many were already in agreement on that matter and the topic considered old and tired. The focus of this paper will be on how the events affected her childhood, broke her family, emphasized her ethnicity, and…
