“Live so as not to fear death for those who life well in the world. Death is not frightening, but sweet and precious,” stated a young woman named Rose. As I was journing closer to Confirmation, I knew I needed a saint to help me through my faith. Not only because I am required but also for the reason that I desire a guardian for my faith life. In the end, I have chosen Saint Rose of Viterbo as my Confirmation saint and to guide me through my faith path. Saint Rose of Viterbo was born in Viterbo, Italy in 1233 with poor parents. Also at a young age she had a heart for the poor. Everyday she would venture out to the poor people and bring them comfort and food to them. At the age of seven Saint Rose would lock herself in her room and pray vigorous prayer in her spare time. When she was nearly ten, the blessed Virgin told her to join the Third Order of Franciscans. Soon she became Secular Franciscan at that age, listening to Mother Mary. At thirteen she watched the people insult the pope. She called out telling that the pope is our protector and father.At eighteen Rose died of heart disease on March 6, 1251 in Viterbo, …show more content…
First, when she was three, Rose was at the funeral of her aunt. Once she placed her gentle hand on her aunt’s coffin, her aunt immediately rose back from the dead. Second, as a teenager she was met by an evil sorceress who harmed the townspeople. Saint Rose took a pile of wood, lit it, and stepped inside without being burned at all, showing the sorceress that her God was powerful too. Shortly after the woman fell at Rose’s feet and converted. Third, after her death she appeared to Pope Alexander IV and told him to move her body to Saint Clares. Since then her body has remained incorrupt. Throughout her life and further on in her death Saint Rose of Viterbo has been dedicated with several miracles and being known as one of the youngest saints of the Catholic
