Claudia Kullolli Dr. Fielding ENGL 015 29 October 2014 Spring Breakers, A Wonderful Waste of Time and Money A phrase that is meant to excite people has never sounded so disturbing. “Spring break,” said by grill-wearing, rapping drug-dealer “Alien” is so repetitive and serial-killer-esque, yet it’s sadly the most interesting detail about this Harmony Korine movie. Once getting past the fact that Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Benson are a part of this awful creation, you unfortunately end up furious about the boring, lacking, sloppy, and excruciatingly painful storyline of this pointless and sickening drama/action-adventure.…

For the past five summers, I’ve worked at a summer camp as a counselor. I met a wide range of people, from underprivileged children to knowledgeable college students. Not only did I teach campers how to make ice cream and friendship bracelets, I made lifelong connections with many of the other counselors. Camp is where I learned what it meant to be part of a supportive community. This fall break was a fall break that was absolutely but on the top of my list for the most memorable breaks that ill never forget and cherish forever in my heart. My 2015 fall break kicked off with the school movie night that happened in a way that I never thought of going down. I was surprised to be the first one there when I’m always late to church. The movie that we watched was “ the Martian “ that was honestly boring and used so many big words that I’ve never heard of or even use myself. While everyone was in the movies enjoying their greasy, salty popcorn, stall candies and there watery drinks I was outside in the cold waiting with my friend carol for her friend who never showed up.…

I have always looked forward to the summer break to be out of school with no studying and no homework, but this year, as I enter into high school, I feel there is so much I can learn during my two month break. At the OSU summer academy, I can sharpen my mind, learn new information and prepare for next year classes. This academy is an opportunity for me to boost my knowledge in technology, math, science and most interestingly, I hope sharpen my ability to read and predict human emotion to prepare myself for a debate class that I will take next year. I want to learn and explore logic and gain the ability to reason.…
