A vibrant child awoken from his dream as he heard someone mutter from a far distance. He was ravenous, like a bear is hungry after he has awakened from his long nap during Spring. As he walked out the door the smell of sweet, fragrant food followed him into the room. He entered the kitchen to a soft voice from his mom asking him what he would like to eat, her words were as soft as a snowflake on a leaf during the winter. He had been the last one to arrive at the table. All of his brothers had already begun eating breakfast.

The anticipation for Thanksgiving break is over the top. The thought of home cooked meals, family, and no professors talking a student 's ear off for a week are heavenly. Of course all the classic thanksgiving things happen but there are also psychological things that go on. (Darn that psychology sneaking its way into everything, it obviously never goes on break.) Although psychology is used every minute of every day i 'm only going to talk about 5 concepts, persuasion, cognition, emotion, personality, and the self.…

Arguments on the merit of the implementation of year round schooling in the American public school system arose in the early 1900s, but have grown in complexity with time. In contemporary society, there are several factors affecting the decision of instituting a year round school schedule in place of a traditional school schedule, including its effects on the students, their parents, and the administrators. However, in order to determine the true value of instituting one of the many options for year round calendars, the American nation as a whole must consider the effect of the transition on the American economy. Such factors include the effect of the transition between calendars on the energy costs necessary to keep a school running, student ability to obtain employment, and costs of constructing new schools and additions onto already standing schools to avoid…

Should schools have balanced schedule or all year round schooling? No, there are many disadvantages to having a balanced calendar. Some of these reasons are it still takes about the same amount of time throughout the year to reteach information forgotten from breaks, it is hard to find a babysitter for short intervals of time rather than a big block of time with a high school student wanting a job, and lastly students having a summer job is almost completely eliminated. The number one reason for school turning away from the balanced schedule is because the main reason they went to them is to reduce the learning curve (summer slide), where student forgot information over their 12 week break.…

Free of the anxiety, free of the drama, free of the constant work.…

My summer goal was to have both my left split and straddle by the time school started. It seemed like a fairly easy goal to keep up with. I accomplished part of my goal over the summer.…

Claudia Kullolli Dr. Fielding ENGL 015 29 October 2014 Spring Breakers, A Wonderful Waste of Time and Money A phrase that is meant to excite people has never sounded so disturbing. “Spring break,” said by grill-wearing, rapping drug-dealer “Alien” is so repetitive and serial-killer-esque, yet it’s sadly the most interesting detail about this Harmony Korine movie. Once getting past the fact that Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Benson are a part of this awful creation, you unfortunately end up furious about the boring, lacking, sloppy, and excruciatingly painful storyline of this pointless and sickening drama/action-adventure.…

Christmas break in my opinion is probably the second best brake that we have throughout our school year. The main thing I like about Christmas break is how long it is. But even though I like how long we are off school it's almost like we don't have a break because basketball takes over. We get a few days off but the rest of the days are hitting the gym early in the mornings for two to three hours a day. The days I have is the best thing in the world because I get to relax and do something fun for once.…
