School Year Round Research Paper

It has been proved time and time again, that students are happier when they get the opportunity of having a summer break. Without a summer break students don't perform the best of their ability. The school calendar should not run year-round because students perform better, and extra costs are avoided, however students would have more learning opportunities. All year long I look forward to summer. It's a time to be with friends, have no homework, and be carefree. It's important for students of America to have a summer break because it will increase their academic performance. Schools in America will spend up to 30% of their budget to provide transportation for their students. In the long run, this money could be put to better use by paying teachers a better salary. However, a year-round calendar would provide students with more learning opportunities, and would not have to catch up on work. Students that are dedicated at having a good education and excel in school wouldn't mind having school year round. With a year long calendar, students wouldn't forget everything they learned the previous year, and wouldn't have to review once they get back from vacation. This is an advantage, because students would have time to learn more. Although, most students wouldn't be able to stay focused and on task without a break, which would ultimately cause them not to do as well in school. Overall, a year round calendar would be a good option for those who are dedicated to school.
