The idea that money being spent on these programs are simply being drained away isn’t true. The money spent on manned space exploration is spent right here on Earth… The money that is spent goes to manufacturing, research and development, salaries, benefits, insurance companies, doctors, teachers, scientists, students, blue-and-white collar workers, and corporations and businesses both large and small. The money disperses throughout the economy in the same way as many spent on medical research.”(Source A). Take example the National Institutes of Health (NIH), “ The National Institutes of Health, a part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the primary federal agency for conducting and supporting medical research… In the past several decades, NIH-supported research, and its national programs to communicate the result of research, played a major role in achievements such as:” (Source D). The article continues on to explain how a well funded agency like the N.I.H. has made amazing medical feats due to the simple fact that the government and its people placed their faith and support in this program. The agency was given the resources it needed to succeed, and as a result it lead to superior medical advancements. Just picture how agencies such as N.A.S.A., space expansion/exploration agencies, imagine if they had this kind of funding. The amounts of educational content and unique items we’d find in space would be phenomenal. If space exploration and expansion received the same amount of funding such as agencies like the N.I.H., the result wouldn’t be a waste of money, but rather a investment that’ll wield aspiration and an increased motive to explore
