Nasa Budget

As far as national leaders go, the number one country usually thought of is the United States, which took on that role post World War II. One of the things the United States government created was the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, or NASA for short. It was designed to lead the world in space exploration and defeat the USSR in the space race. Sadly after we had reached a clear victory in being the first country to land on the moon, Nasa’s importance to the public and the government view became substantially less valuable. This can be seen in the decline of its appropriated funds. Nasa’s budget should be increased from 17.6 billion dollars to 34.5 billion to increase the economy, increase quality of life, protect our standing in the space industry, and support youth’s interests in science. With the economic recession of 2008 massive cuts were brought to government spending. Unfortunately Nasa, one of the highest quality assets of the government, took harsh blows to its funding. Suffering 678 million dollars in reduction from 2011 to 2012 (Teitel). This also led to cutting employees at the Kennedy center down to 8,400 employees, the lowest it has been since 1977 (Woolfolk). Creating new forms of cancer treatment, efficient water purification systems, and eye test has improved our health (Nasa). Specifically, Nasa created the Argonide water filtration company, the company uses the same filtration system used to recycle water in space. It has the capability to remove 99.99% of dangerous bacteria, viruses, cysts, organic debris, and parasites. Protecting people from all kinds of dangers, it even dissolves heavy metals. Furthermore, in order to manage and manufacture these products new jobs must be created. Therefore lowering the unemployment rate and giving chances to those who need
