From Apollo 11 to the Mars Pathfinder, space exploration has been a big event in the United States, as well as across the globe. Some would say that space companies have too much money given to them, which they believe is an issue. I believe the opposite. If space companies were given more financial aid, we would be much further than Mars right now. This has been an obstacle along with the issue of the competition here on earth between countries, and the hazardness of contamination. Therefore, these issues, out of many, are ones that should be considered most relevant. Many people believe that accomplishments are not reached in space, so why should the government waste money on it? However, I believe there is not enough financial aid given to the space related companies for them to prove themselves, even if they have landed on the moon, six times. In a chart from a 2006 estimate on how each federal dollar is spent, space and technology is stuck with an "All Others" category with only six pennies out of each federal dollar to work with. These six pennies are also shared with many other items, like general government. On the other hand, health for instance, is given 10 pennies out of each federal dollar, to themselves (Source C). This is an effect of the competitiveness on our earth, over just about anything. David Livingston (Source A) says that we do not get along here on earth and that we all want in on the manned space act. This is quite true because it is considered a race to see who can get the furthest, the fastest. However, what we should be doing is coming together as one unit, instead of against each other. The fact that we choose to work independently, instead of united, slows the human expansion down in
