Space Exploration

Space is the ongoing discovery and exploration of celestial structures in outer space by means of continuously evolving and growing technology. While the study of space is carried out mainly by astronomers with telescopes, the physical exploration of space is conducted both by unmanned robotic probes and human spaceflight. As Astronomers go further in space, finding essential knowledge of space, acquiring ways to survive the outskirts of the intergalactic space and also improving our technology to explore more in the deep space.

Why rush off to space when we've not seen all of our own planet yet? Yet the government is still spending billions of dollars to reach our goals in the outer space just to see a remarkable discovery. According to the article “The United States Should Invest in Oceans Before Space” by Michael Conathan explain that no more than ten percent of the ocean has been explored and also he addresses that space exploration gives humans few tangible benefits. Plus ocean exploration has a less cost than going into space for example in the article “The United States Should Invest in Ocean Before space” Conathan essays, “In fiscal year 2013, NASA's annual exploration budget was roughly $3.8 billion. ....Space travel is certainly expensive. But as Cameron proved with his dive that cost approximately $8 million, deep-sea exploration is pricey as well.” and he compares the two on their experience of going to space and into the ocean, both are dark, cold, and uninhabitable to live. The deep seabed is a much more likely source of so-called rare earth metals than distant asteroids plus this can create more opportunities for jobs that are safer than those getting blown up into pieces such as The Challenger back in the …show more content…
Also get people convinced about the benefits of space exploration and compare the other coast the government makes in other stuff. Overall our technology come mostly from space but most people don't realize because they don't go further into researching.
In conclusion, space exploration is a need for our existence because this help us gather new information about space, acquire new technology so when astronauts do get to a planet they can use the data that has been used in probes, and ac new survival skills in deep outskirts of space. In the United states, they should fund space organization because it's essential to our

From the expected fields of astronomy and physics to more unexpected fields like geology and psychology, space exploration has provided uncountable volumes of information to dissect and discuss for many different areas of study. And, like with technological advances, these gains in knowledge have direct roots in specific programs of space exploration. For instance, new information on black holes and solar system formation has been directly accumulated from the Hubble Space Telescope, a tool that “…could reveal stars, planets, nebulae, and galaxies in all their fully-detailed glory” (Moskowitz). Or for an example far closer to home, the Voyager probes to the outer solar system discovered volcanoes on Io, the moon of the Jupiter, and 10 new moons around Uranus (Moskowitz). From this, it can be concluded that the funding of space exploration is a clear driver of scientific…

    I. Political and Economic Situations surrounding the Space Race in America “The good news for space exploration in general is that public opinion favors it – but only when not taking economic costs and budgetary spending into consideration.” (Hsu) Setting up the backdrop for the rise of the space program simultaneously builds the opposing argument for its continuation past 1969 as well. As culturally beneficial as it eventually resulted to be, it can be widely agreed that the initialization of the race to the moon was not sparked by human curiosity itself. The primary motivator for initial American exploration into space was a silver beach-ball sized hunk of metal called Sputnik. Normally a Russian ball made of metal wouldn’t unnerve anyone-…

The entire universe is 45 billion light years, and humans have only explored 0.032 light years of it (“NASA Book”). This brings the percentage of our universe explored to less than one billionth of a percent (“NASA Book”). Some of the general public are satisfied with this amount of exploration and are not willing to give more funds to NASA because they believe it’s budget is large enough. However, there are a plethora of people who disagree. These people strongly believe in expanding NASA’s recently decreased budget, which would allow for further exploration to take place in the hopes of achieving new levels of discovery.…

This ties directly into the opposition’s argument to fix the Earth. Why spend money delaying the inevitable death of our planet, when we could find a new planet that would alleviate the strain we’re putting on this one, solving both problems. Throughout the explorations to find a new planet, we’d most likely find other planets that are full of valuable resources. Space is seemingly infinite, which means there’s a very high chance there are places where we could harvest water, minerals, and even energy. A couple years ago NASA discovered a giant cloud of water out in space.…
