Social Issues On Abortion Research Paper

One of the most current pressing and controversial social problem in our country today is the topic of abortion. Politically speaking abortion is partially vaginally delivering a living fetus before killing the fetus and completing the delivery (Trupin 2010). It is one of the most difficult ethical decisions to make because it involves basically judging the line between life and death. Unfortunately, for the last couple years, abortion has been a practice renowned as an essential human right. Many people are avid supporters for abortion. However, I am convinced that supporting abortion is not even a thought for people who understand, the power God has given us to multiply and there self-worth as human created by God. We were made by God in his image, and it is from Him that we derive our worth. Jeremiah 1:5 says “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” As believers in Christ we should consider what he is trying to say to us in this passage. He is saying that each and every one of us were born to fulfill a purpose. God knew us before we were conceived. The Christian pro-life argument says that human life is special and that human life begins at the moment of conception. From the point of view of pro-life Christians, when you abort your baby, a God ordained fetuses, you are killing unborn babies through the process. In Genesis 1:27 it says “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” How dare we want to kill something so preciously, and perfectly created in our savior’s image? Although the debate involves people opposing views, prolife and prochoice, the most appalling fact is that Christians are holding strong views on both ends of the argument. As a Christian I believe that the act of abortion is morally and ethically wrong. As a Christian I will always revert back to Jeremiah 1:5. God already had a plan for our lives, even at the point of conception. There are many arguments concerning the issue of abortions legality. One of the main arguments is question why should mothers give birth to babies that they cannot take care of? The real question is should abortion should remain legal simply the relieve mother who simply do not want to have a child because it is inconvenient to them (Trupin 2010). 1 Corinthians 10:13 says Gods will not put more on us than we can endure. Another popular argument in favor of abortions is that an abortion is not actually murdering because the baby has not been born yet and that even in the womb the baby is not alive (Trupin 2010). The argument is very inaccurate. As soon as eighteen days after conception, the baby has developed a heart is beat. Places like Planned Parenthood, the Partial Birth Abortion Ban, and parental consent are some of the ways that are dealt with this social problem. Basirico, Cashion,
